We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to work in the Controls Systems & Services department. You main goal will be supporting the automation requirements, while ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing industrial control systems and software for industrial automation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assist with developing Control Strategy specifications and functionality standards.
-Capable of learning the basics of an MES or ERP system, such as SAP for daily scheduling, tracking, requisitioning, etc.
-Assist in refining Control Systems Standards and keep up with current industry trends.
-Perform integration services for small to medium sized projects. These include Pump Stations, PRVs and Water Treatment Facilities.
-Support trades with troubleshooting, calibration, loop tuning and set up of control systems and instrumentation in a process environment.
-Develop network architectures such as, but not limited to Ethernet, Modbus, Profinet, Genius, Device-net, etc.
-Act as an on-call stand-by controls engineer on a rolling basis assigned by department leadership.
-Manage System Integrators assigned to work on our facilities during maintenance.
-Participate in external training courses for automation hardware and software platforms, allowing a continual advancement of individual skill set.
-Capable of understanding a long-term vision for SCADA systems in a remote deployment environment. This should include an expandable architecture for data collection, control capabilities for individual remote nodes, forecasting for site upgrades & facility audits.
-Capable of creating the proper engineering documents using Auto-Cad software, such as but not limited to P&ID drawings, Networking Architectural Layouts, Electrical Schematics, As Built Drawings, Control Enclosure Layout, etc.
-Capable of creating logic, per an established standard to satisfy a control strategy, functional description, or control algorithm in an automated process control environment.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant field
-Proven experience troubleshooting SCADA and PLC applications
-Proven experience with PLC programming
-Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex system issues
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
