Position Overview: The Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of industrial control systems to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of machine systems. The Controls Engineer must be knowledgeable of a variety of industrial control technologies and systems, including Control Systems, AutoCAD, Ladder Logic, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Electrical Schematics, Bills of Materials, Graphic Interface Programs, Sensors, Servo Controllers, Ethernet Communications, AC and DC Drives, Foundry Background, Math Skills, Verbal Communication, Pneumatics, OEM Background, Written Communication, Presentation Skills, Organizational Skills, and Travel.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and commission control systems, including hardware and software components. Develop, modify, debug, and implement control software using a variety of programming languages. Design, review and generate electrical schematics, bills of material, and other technical documentation. Develop graphic interface programs for operator control, monitoring, and troubleshooting of machine systems. Develop functional specifications for control systems and components, including sensors, servo controllers, and AC/DC drives. Conduct research and recommend new technologies to improve machine system performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and debug existing control systems and components. Test and validate control systems and components to ensure proper operation. Provide technical support and training. Prepare technical reports and presentations.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Knowledge of Control Systems, AutoCAD, Ladder Logic, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Electrical Schematics, Bills of Materials, Graphic Interface Programs, Sensors, Servo Controllers, Ethernet Communications, AC and DC Drives, Foundry Background, Math Skills, Verbal Communication, Pneumatics, OEM Background, Written Communication, Presentation Skills, Organizational Skills, and Travel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to travel, as needed.
